What is EA Play?

EA Play — formerly known as EA Access — is a gaming membership that gives players access to a wide variety of EA titles, all available to download and play with the membership. EA Play subscribers can also get early access to brand new titles before they launch, and also get 10% off on EA digital purchases, which extends to expansion packs and in-game currency for any game that might have it.

Most importantly, though, an EA Play subscription gives you access to The Play List, which is a collection of some of the best and most beloved EA titles from its history, as well as select third-party games that may also be available.

How much does EA Play cost?

EA Play has two separate tiers, with the normal version of the service available for $4.99 per month, or $29.99 for an entire year. For players looking for even more content, however, EA Play Pro offers the chance to experience that.

EA Play Pro is available at $14.99 a month, or $99.99 for an entire year, and gives players exclusive in-game rewards, and access to The Pro Play List, which has even more games available to play than the normal EA Play list. For the time being, though, EA Play Pro is only available for PC.

Do I still need to have another payment method on file?

Though you can use a gift card to purchase a subscription on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, you still need to enter another payment method — like a credit card — so that if the money on your gift card runs out, your credit card will be charged when it automatically renews your subscription. You will be able to turn off automatic renewal, however you'll only be able to do so after you have purchased the subscription and entered your backup payment method.
