Best answer: No, PlayStation VR2 is not wireless.

Will the PSVR 2 ever be wireless?

While we were hoping for the world, it turns out that the PSVR 2 is not a wireless VR headset. Furthermore, the USB-C cable that's attached to the PSVR 2 headset is permanent and not detachable. That's a huge letdown for many reasons, but it also means there's no possibility that Sony will ever sell some kind of wireless adapter.

While this is definitely a letdown in many ways, it also means that Sony avoided any potential problems that could have occurred with wireless connections to the PS5. It also means that players don't have to worry about battery life on the PSVR 2 headset which, given the HDR display, eye tracking, and haptic motors in the headset, would have been pretty abysmal.

Is it worth buying a PSVR 2?

If you've already got a PS5 and are considering buying a new VR headset, the PSVR 2 is a great choice. It's a huge upgrade over the original PSVR and offers a ton of great new features that help immerse players more in the digital world. The shortlist includes a new higher-resolution HDR OLED display, eye-tracking technology, a haptic motor in the headset, and brand-new motion-tracked controllers with next-gen haptics and adaptive triggers.

But, aside from the technical reasons the PSVR 2 is fantastic, the best PSVR 2 games will have you feeling impressed from the instant you put the headset on. Games like Horizon, Resident Evil, and Gran Turismo offer unreal visuals and immersive details that even most PC VR games can't offer, much less the mobile chipsets on a Meta Quest or Pico headset.
